THE DEBACLE CONTINUES UNABATED AT THE SIX LOS ANGELES MUNICIPAL SHELTERS!
General Manager Ed Boks does NOTHING to implement adoption or foster outreach and other programs proven to stop the killing. As a result, beautiful and loving animals are dying in record numbers. On his own blog, Boks admits: "There has been a 94% increase in the number of animals who have died while in the care of LA Animal Services or a Foster Care Giver."
The list defies belief! Dogs of every description - so many breeds, pure and mixed. They are all ages - even puppies. There is a quartet of 3-month-old babies who desperately need to get out - stat! Many dogs have already been on the list for a week or longer, but many more were newly redlisted on 11/16.
The slaughter continues because of Boks' inability to implement programs, policies and protocols proven to stop the killing, as is being done in other municipal shelters across the Nation. Not only do the employees inside LAAS realize Boks is a complete and utter joke, but the rescuers, volunteers and even the commissioners know that Boks does NOT process the aptitude, leadership abilities or organizational skills needed to make the positive life saving changes to our failed shelter system.

FIRE ED BOKS and HIRE NO KILL SOLUTIONS TO COME ON BOARD, EVALUATE LAAS, HIRE A GENERAL MANAGER WHO IS COMMITTED TO IMPLEMENTING THE "NO KILL EQUATION," AND TO MAKE CERTAIN LA IMPLEMENTS PROVEN LIFE SAVING PROGRAMS THAT HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN OTHER CITY SHELTERS.
