Subject: Re: [stopthekilling] The PRO KILL Article! Dear ADLLA,
These are not the unintended consequences of a No Kill shelter, but rather the intended consequences of an incompetent, animal-abusing sociopath and pathological liar who got caught in both new York City and Maricopa County but had the temerity to think that he could come to our fair city and hoodwink Angelenos into believing that he would establish the very No Kill shelters he now seeks to slander!
If there was a Nobel prize for spin-doctoring, he would win it hands down! It just doesn't dawn on this cognitively challenged criminal that it would be so much easier just to do his job - the one for which he is paid a handsome $165,000 a year from our hard-earned taxpayer dollars - than to have to come up with every devious trick in the book to cover up his ineptitude and disdain for life. Guess what, Ed? Since you obviously have trouble identifying cause and effect, let me clarify it for you: Both the legal pickets of the above-ground and the actions of the underground are a reaction to - not a determination of - your ongoing fraud, deception, and slaughter.
Like all psychopaths, Ed et al can dish it out but can't take it. They murder tens of thousands of innocent animals with aplomb - but snivel and whine like the true cowards they are when a little well-deserved justice is delivered by the only people who will step up to the plate to do so. Villaraigosa, Blackman, and Boks are a triumvirate of tyranny akin to Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld. They perceive - just like the Nazis who grandiosely believed that the Third Reich would endure for one thousand years - perceive that they will get away indefinitely with their crimes. Their reign of terror will end - and would do so that much sooner if Villaraigosa would get off his derelict duff, fire these imbeciles, and hire someone competent and compassionate who will implement the proven tenets of Nathan Winograd's No Kill Solutions.
But, we understand, Tony. Potholes are so much more important than tens of thousands of lives, aren't they? The promise of a multi-million-dollar contribution (which never panned out) for a future gubernatorial run was so much more important than tens of thousands of lives, wasn't it? That imperialistic clamoring behind the zipper of your jeans that only Mirthala's favors could temper was so much more important than tense of thousands of lives, wasn't it?
Life - both animal and human - means nothing in this country. It's all about power, greed, and acquisition. Little Tony was so boyishly charming on that podium before the Humane Convention, swearing to do right by those in the shelters not so fortunate to have homes. Good job, Tony! At least when the trucks come to pick up the corpses and transport them to the rendering facility, the ride is a lot smoother thanks to the potholes you've filled!

Subject: [stopthekilling] The PRO KILL Article! Ed Boks is currently being called on the carpet for all the killing - so, he wrote (or had someone write) the article at the bottom of this post to make it look like this is what happens with No Kill.
Boks has been allowing animals to be injured and get sick inside LAAS- so that they will die "on their own" and not have to be included in the kill stats. He wants to make it seem like he's being the "good guy" - holding the animals for a longer period of time - and these deaths are the "unfortunate consequences" (i.e., not his fault). But this is all a HOAX just like BOKS!
Boks is the master spin doctor - Boks will twist and cook it so that he looks like the good guy and the activists appear as the troublemakers. Boks wrote a blog in which he blamed the foster caregivers for kitten deaths, - now he's switching it over to the animal rights activists. The guys is a true sociopath and the sooner Villaraigosa and Blackman get rid of him, the better for the animals and the humane community.
The choice is not between killing and having them die of disease in shelters. That is only occurring because Ed Boks is failing to do his job. The choice is between killing and finding them new homes.
The below two paragraphs are from a newsletter previously sent out by Nathan Winograd.
To imply that No Kill by definition means animals die in shelters from disease or injury is a cynicism that has in design only one purpose: to defend those who are doing a poor job at saving lives from public criticism and public accountability by painting a picture of the alternative as even darker. The philosophical underpinning of the No Kill movement is to put actions behind the words of every shelter's mission statement: "All life is precious." No Kill is about valuing animals. And valuing animals not only means saving their lives, it means good quality care. Saving lives requires a shelter to keep animals healthy and happy, make the shelter more inviting for the public, and allow animals to move through the system as quickly as possible. No Kill doesn't mean announcing a policy change and then getting bogged down with animals because you do not have programs to keep animals moving through the system and into loving homes. No Kill means comprehensive implementation of the No Kill Equation which includes adoption, foster care, transfer to rescue groups, pet retention programs, spay/neuter, and helping people overcome medical, behavior and environmental conditions which may cause people to relinquish their animals. Doing so eliminates the problem of "overcrowding," unreasonably feared by sincere animal lovers and unfairly painted by cynical proponents of the status quo.
The unintended consequences of `no kill' shelters
Los Angeles Daily News - Los Angeles,CA,USA
For years, various animal - rights activists have demanded - sometimes violently - the Los Angeles animal shelters embrace a "no kill" policy. ...
